50 year dream into 50 day dream
Winter and Joshua Fixin fell in love with the property of Celestial Hills before it was actually named “Celestial Hills.” May 2, 2015 was the best day of their lives as they got married on this property! As they walked around the property they had a vision of turning this home that was for sale into a Christian Retreat Center. They made a plan to buy this property in 50 years and make their dreams come true.
Joshua Fixin is from Stilwell, OK and Winter Archibald-Fixin is from Asheboro, NC but as God planned it they met in NYC. Winter was serving as a Church-Planting Resident and Joshua came to visit on a mission trip. They met in August of 2014 and got married nine months later. “Long distance relationships are hard, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way,” says Winter.
They served as church planters together for 47 days when they received a phone call from Tom & Bobbie Frazier, property owners of the land where they got married, asking them if they wanted start a Christian Retreat Center on that property! Winter & Joshua were shocked and could barely contain their excitement. They replied to Tom and Bobbie by asking for a little bit of time to pray and confirm God’s plan. Three days later they called The Fraziers and accepted their gracious offer. In those 3 days God gave them a name for the retreat center through a scripture reading during the small group they led in their home weekly, Celestial Hills. God turned their 50 year dream into a 50 day dream! Leaving NYC was a bittersweet time, they dearly loved their community in Astoria yet the experience waiting for them in NC filled their hearts with joy.
On September first The Fixins moved to Celestial Hills in Troy, NC. Thanks for many volunteers, partners, prayers and encouragement they are living out their dream every day!

We are Celestial Hills Christian Retreat Center. Our mission is to provide a place of rest, relaxation and refreshment to those who are serving the Lord. We are open to those who need a place to just "get away." This 34-acre property is quietly tucked away in the woods of Troy, NC.
